Eberron and on...
Telepathy to the untrained can seem invasive. To Marina it was as easy and natural as having a conversation would be to any other being. The voice of her sensei was an all too familiar sound, the muffled sound like a far away whisper. “It is time” The statement was all the instruction required. Marina had been waiting for this day. She raised herself from meditation and began the mental preparations for travel into the world. Using a mental command she summoned Tick-tock from his bed and made way to the healing rooms.Entering the ancient chamber, the cocktail of aromas assaulted her senses.. Across from the entrance lay the aged master, his deceptively frail form was surrounded by a ring of 6 initiates, each representing one of the senses. The one designated ‘The Voice’ began to speak; “The other has almost taken hold. You have been chosen to venture out into the world to find the ingredients necessary to allow me to take back control of my Quori. All your training up to this point has been to prepare you for the coming journey. You must travel to the wild lands in the south and bring us the leaves of the Brachenliche.” The voice paused as the master’s consciousness transferred more; “This journey will test you to your limits. Though you are a well-trained adept, your training can only be completed with such an expedition. Go now, find your friend Mord, you will find he too must travel south for his own reasons.” With this command, Marina moved swiftly to her chambers and gathered her small amount of possessions. Foremost of which is the string of beads, interlaced with precious stones. It was not the value of this item that she required but it’s spiritual value. It was her Ki Focus, an important item in the way of the Monk. Slipping this over her head and changing into a travelling Gi she walked to the food stores to collect the provisions she had requested before leaving the healing rooms. With all her gear in place she looked out across the mountains and started to descend the steps to the valley below.
So begins the tale of Marina Qua-Lestille……………..
